These are called Asthanga Yoga. But let\u2019s look at each one of these steps since they all play an essential role in our healing process.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>The first 2 steps \u2013Yama and Nyama- are known as the <u>VOWS OF YOGA.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-1bedb13 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"1bedb13\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-6845eb0\" data-id=\"6845eb0\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f8acf23 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f8acf23\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>1.YAMA &#8211;<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Restraints<\/strong><\/span> to adjust our attitudes or way of looking at the world and at ourselves. There are 5 Yamas:<\/p><ul><li><em><strong>Ahimsa<\/strong><\/em>: non-violence through actions, thoughts and words against others and ourselves;<\/li><li><em><strong>Satya:<\/strong><\/em> truthfulness and honesty with ourselves, with our relationships and with our community;<\/li><li><em><strong>Asteya<\/strong><\/em>: non-stealing,\u00a0not only things, but also energy, time, etc;<\/li><li><em><strong>Brahmacharya<\/strong><\/em>: right use of our energy (away from external desires and towards internal peace\/happiness);<\/li><li><em><strong>Aparigraha:<\/strong> <\/em>non-greed and non-attachment in our lives.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a00a331 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a00a331\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>2.NIYAMA<\/strong> \u2013 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Observances<\/strong><\/span> or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>duties<\/strong> <\/span>directed towards ourselves.
